Its been a long time

I've been asked by many to update my blog, and I must say that I haven't been able to muster up the will to do so. I have no clever and or inane insights to yammer-on about, and I've been doing so much writing between work and the dissertation, that any additional "long-writing" seems difficult and tiresome.

This morning an online friend had suggested I post something political. This got me wondering about what I may want to write. So I took a quick look at some of the political preaching that people place within their facebooks, their blogs and their tweets and all, and I must say that I'm beginning to find all of it to be very dull, and that I don't want to contribute to the public floggings of many very dead, rotting, in many cases long skeletonized, mayhaps even fossilized horses.

So my political message for the day?

Be good to one another, and be good to earth. That is all.

  1. I just say go back to posting music reviews (especially your current love of pamplimouse (SP? whatever) and all the single ladies. I'm sure your readership is dying to read about that!

Also do a running post! Go Ramboob!

  2. My thoughts - post about something that caught your attention during the day. I know you don't zombie shamble all day, drooling and mumbling...eww...gross...Anyway, something caught your attention or made you smile or frown today - I know it!

So tell us about something that turned your head or made you raise your eyebrows or your voice.

Maybe also consider the purposes of your blog. Are you trying to entertain? 'Cuz that gets boring. Are you trying to let your friends and family updated on your life? That can be intimidating and seem like a chore.

My reasons for blogging are constantly evolving, but the one underlying purpose for me to write something new is to remind myself that the world is full of wonderful, exciting things. My blog posts are snapshots in time - I can go back and see what caught my attention on February 17th, 2010 (e.g.). My blog posts also have the secondary purposes of sharing myself with my friends and family and to pass on "important" new stories now and then, but the main reason I write is always for myself. And trust me, with an average view rate of 10-20 views per day...it's gotta be that way.
